UT teams log win in kho kho tourney
In the ongoing Senior National Kho Kho Championship organised by the Kho Kho Sports Association of Chandigarh (affiliated to Kho Kho India) at Panjab University, the Chandigarh girls’ team defeated Haryana by 15 points, while the local boys’ team triumphed over Uttarakhand by nine points.
In the girls’ event, Haryana won the toss and chose to defend. In the first innings, Chandigarh attacked aggressively and scored 20 points, while Haryana managed only five. In the second innings, Chandigarh secured a decisive win with a margin of 15 points. In the boys’ match, Chandigarh won the toss and opted to attack first. They scored 12 points during their turn. Uttarakhand could manage only three.
In others matches, Punjab defeated Nagaland by 14 points, Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh by 12 points, Jammu & Kashmir ousted Himachal Pradesh by two points, Uttar Pradesh defeated Bihar by nine points and Delhi overpowered Rajasthan with an 18-point margin.
In the girls’ category, Tamil Nadu defeated Punjab by one point. Tamil Nadu won the toss and chose to defend first. Punjab attacked, scoring 13 points. Tamil Nadu, however, managed to score 14 points in their turn, clinching a thrilling one-point victory. Delhi defeated Gujarat by three points and Gujarat beat Himachal Pradesh by six points.
