The UT Tourism Department has decided to revamp the tourism website and social media platforms to showcase events and other activities happening in the city. This was decided during a meeting chaired by UT Home-cum-Tourism Secretary Mandip Singh Brar with the hotel, hospitality and restaurant associations and key hotel representatives to discuss strategies for boosting tourism and hotel occupancy in the city. The discussion was focussed on developing Chandigarh as a tourist hub.

Brar assured support for initiatives, including local tourism exhibitions and improving city branding. He emphasised that the government was keen to collaborate with tourism-related stakeholders to strengthen Chandigarh’s tourism sector to increase the tourist footfall, both domestic as well as international.

The Secretary assured that regular meetings would be held to work closely with them for the city’s development. The hotel stakeholders welcomed and appreciated the initiative.

The meeting was attended by Arvinder Pal Singh, president, Hotel and Restaurant Association of Chandigarh, Ankit Gupta, president, Chandigarh Hospitality Association, Manish Gupta, Swagat Hospitality Group, among others.
