Councillor Hardeep Singh, along with villagers, protested outside the MC office over the issue of hefty waste collection charges.

The villagers said they had been getting unreasonable bills of waste collection.

“We are getting bills worth Rs1000-Rs2000 and even more than that just for door-to-door waste collection. Ealier, we used to pay Rs100,” said a resident.

The councillor met MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra who assured him of doing the needful. — TNS
