The NSS unit of the school celebrated Vanmahotsava and planted various herbal plants. NSS volunteers and staff members took a pledge to take care of these trees. Principal Sapna Sood motivated students to take care of the environment.

PML SD Public School, Chandigarh

Students of the NSS unit of the school observed World Population Day by presenting a nukkad natak to create awareness on the issue of growing population. The play focused on the ill-effects of the rapid growth of population on the development of economy.

Students of the school won top positions in various competitions organised at the 29th Mango Mela at Yadavindra Gardens. The award winners included Rahi (Class IX), Aditya (Class VIII), Jaskirat (Class IX) and Sannskriti (Class VIII) in a show and tell competition, Diya Rana (Class XII) in drawing, Bhoomika (Class XI) in extempore and Likhit (Class VI) in singing.

AKSIPS Smart School, Kharar

Students of the school planted saplings to make the earth greener. They planted different saplings of plants and trees like ficus, Gulmohar, neem, Arjun, hibiscus, etc, and took a vow to look after these throughout their academic career. Students pledged to plant more trees on Vanmahotsava every year.

Shivalik Public School, Mohali

Students of Class I and II celebrated Blue Day. All children came dressed up in different shades of blue. The classrooms were decorated with blue balloons. Students enthusiastically participated in a clay modelling activity. A short movie on the importance of water and its conservation was shown to the kids.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

A speech competition on “World Population Day” was held for students of Class VIII. The students spoke about the consequences of the population explosion, including war for food and water, social conflicts and depletion of natural resources. The competition was followed by a discussion on the ways to check the growth of population in India.
