Chandigarh, July 13

The first pregnant woman to get inoculated in the city got her jab at the Health and Wellness Centre, Sector 42, today.

Dr Amandeep Kaur Kang, Director, Health Services, said: “Evidence indicates that pregnant women are at an increased risk of severe illness from Covid compared to non-pregnant women in case they get infected. The vaccine will reduce the risk of mortality among pregnant women.” — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
