Vedant Garg scored 4.5 points to win the U-19 Open category final during the concluding day of the Chandigarh U-19 Open and Girls and U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship at the Ambedkar Bhawan, Sector 37.

Swastik Singhal, Pratyaksh Goel, Atharv Singh Negi and Vivaan Mittal, all scored four points each, while Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi scored 3.5 points. Shivansh Singla, Anuj Bhatt, Sukant Mohindra, Aaditya Bhargav, Akshun Punchhi, Dishant Bansal, Naik Arjun and Arnav Bana scored three points each.

In the U-7 years Open and Girls, Jiaana Garg and Eshaan Saha scored 3.5 points each. Jiaana won the U-7 event, while Eshaan claimed the girls’ U-7 event. Amyra Arora, Advay Nayyar and Garvit Patel scored three points each, while Yaksh Kataria, Lavit Kansal, Zubayr Pratap Singh Khara, Inaayat Kaur, Ibaadat Kaur and Birwaan Udeg Singh scored three points.

In the girls’ U-19 event, Aarya Singh scored 2.5 points. Precious Bansal, Shereen Makroo, Kamya Kumari and Namanjot Kaur Khehara scored two points each, while Anvi Gupta registered 1.5 points.
