Vedant Garg scored 6.5 points to bag the top position in the 34th Chandigarh Chess Championship, which concluded at Dr Ambedkar Bhawan, Sector 37, here. Along with Garg, Pratyaksh Goel (6 points), Abhinandan Vohra (6 points) and Sanjeev Biswas (5.5 points), who were among the top four, have been selected for the 61st National Chess Championship to be held in Gurgaon from August 17 to 27. The championship was organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association and a total of 78 players participated in it.

Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi, Sidharth Bhargav, Amogh Agrawal, Ayaan Garg, Swastik Singhal, Atharv Singh Negi, Akshun Punchhi and Dishant Bansal scored five points each. — TNS
