With a score of five points, Vedant Garg claimed the Under-19 Open category title while Dusicka Yumlembam bagged the girls’ Under-19 trophy with three points on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Under-19 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2025.

Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi claimed second position, followed by Paras Kalia at third, and Swastik Singhal at fourth with four points each in the Under-19 Open category.

In the girls’ category Aayra Singh claimed second position with 2.5 points, while Parthvi Sharma and Samaira Taneja with two points finished came third and fourth, respectively.

The selected four boys and four girls will represent Chandigarh at the National Under-19 to be held in Jharkhand from October 24 to 31.

Meanwhile, Atharv Singh Negi, Vihaan Kamalkant, Sukant Mohindra, and Dishant Bansal, Rudresh Mani and Sidharth Bhargav were the other top finishers in the open category.
