A group of local veterans, under the banner of the Mohali-based Ex-Servicemen Grievances Cell, joined the Kisan Morcha at the Singhu border today for extending support to the farmers protesting against the new farm laws recently introduced by the Centre.

The cell’s president, Ly Col SS Sohi (retd), said though farmers and rural populace comprise about 80 per cent of India’s population, most MPs and MLAs did not oppose the bills.

He said the morale of the protesters was high and the camps were well-organised and operating systematically.
