Vijender Singh Ahlawat has been appointed as the chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana.

The Bar Council of India, the apex body of advocates in India, passed a resolution to this effect in its General Council meeting.

Chetan Verma will serve as the vice-chairman and Karamjeet Singh honorary secretary.

This will be Ahlawat’s second term on the post. He had earlier remained the chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana from 2017 -2019 and served as its vice-chairman in the year 2008-09. He has also served as Deputy Advocate General Haryana from 2009-2014.
