Chandigarh: Visitors only with prior appointments will be allowed to enter the civic body building in the city. One of the two entrances has been closed. Those who want to meet officials will have to take a prior appointment. All security guards have been directed to adhere to the orders issued by the MC Commissioner. TNS

Now, Pay water bill by May 17

Chandigarh: The due date for paying the water bill has been extended. According to the MC, for the consumers of Group 1 Cycle 2 and Group 2 Cycle 2, May 17 is the payment date without surcharge. The date has been extended as the community centres were closed till May 11 due to the lockdown. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
