The voting for 31 wards of Kalka Municipal Council will start at 7 am will continue till 6 pm on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mahavir Kaushik said there are 87,617 voters in Kalka Municipal Council, out of which 45,431 are male, 42,180 female and 6 are transgender voters.

He said a total of 97 polling booths had been set up at 49 polling locations for 31 wards of the Municipal Council.

Mahavir Kaushik said the final rehearsals of the polling parties were organised today for the Municipal Council Kalka polls to be held tomorrow and they were sent to their respective polling stations.

He said adequate police force had been deployed at the polling booths to maintain law and order during the elections and to conduct the elections in a transparent manner. Apart from this, 10-10 duty magistrates and sector officers have also been appointed according to the polling booth.

Kaushik said arrangements had been made for masks, sanitisers and umbrellas at the polling stations. Apart from this, arrangement of wheel chair has also been made at each polling station to transport persons with disabilities to the polling stations. He appealed to the people that they must go to exercise their vote tomorrow. The counting of votes will be held on June 22.
