The DPR has already been approved by the technical adviser to the Punjab Government and has been sent to the local MC by authorities of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department here.

Mohali Mayor Kulwant Singh said the project cost would be Rs 13.90 crore. As per the DPR, several works, including installation of pumping machinery at water treatment plants, boosting stations, construction of backwash collection tank and boosting stations and other repair works, would be carried out for effective water supply in the town under the scheme.

The Mayor said of the total project cost of Rs 13.90 crore, 50 per cent of the amount would be provided by the Centre under AMRUT, whereas 30 per cent would be shared by the Punjab Government and the rest 20 per cent would be borne by the Mohali Municipal Corporation. “After the approval by the Mohali MC House, the DPR will further be approved by the Technical Sub Committee, AMRUT, and State High Power Committee following which tenders in this regard will be floated,” Mayor said.
