Chandigarh, February 18

SP City Vineet Kumar, Inspector Ashwani Attari and Inspector Balwinder Singh (retd) today appeared before the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) regarding a complaint filed by a city-based dentist against Ashwani and Balwinder.

On December 18 last year, the PCA had directed the UT police to furnish some necessary documents.

However, those documents were not provided to the authority on the next hearing, which was scheduled for January 21, following which the PCA had passed an order that the non-compliance of its directions should be brought

to the notice of the UT Administrator.

The cops today appeared before the PCA and gave an assurance that they will produce the documents sought by the PCA on February 24.

The police had registered a case against Dr Mohit Dhawan at the Sector 19 police station in March 2018, after an NRI woman alleged that she was duped of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of dental tourism package, as she was not satisfied with the service.

Inspector Ashwani was then the SHO of the Sector 19 police station and SI Balwinder was the investigating officer in the case.

Dhawan had later filed a complaint with the PCA alleging that the two cops had fabricated the documents and misused their official position.
