Two walk free in murder case

Chandigarh: A local court has acquitted two persons – Kanwaljit and Vishal – in a murder case after the prosecution failed to prove charges. The police had arrested the accused for the commission of offences under Sections 302, 392, 411 and 34 of the IPC on a complaint by Subhash Devi, a resident of Sector 29-B, Chandigarh, on March 24, 2016. In her complaint, she alleged that some unidentified persons had killed her husband. During the course of investigation, the accused were arrested. Gautam Bhardwaj, counsel for Kanwaljit, and Mandeep Kumar and Kashish Jain, counsels for Vishal, argued that they were falsely implicated by the police. They argued that the prosecution had failed to prove charges against the duo. After hearing the arguments, the court acquitted the accused of the charges framed against them.
