A man has been arrested by the UT police for abetment to suicide after his wife reportedly hanged herself to death.

The police said Moni, mother of a 13-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy, had an altercation with her husband Bilashi on the night of January 19. A few hours later, she was found hanging from a pipe. The police were informed about the incident. A forensic team also inspected the crime scene. The autopsy was conducted and the body handed over to the victim’s kin.

Police said that victim’s father Santosh Kumar, a resident of Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh, filed a complaint, following which a case under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS was registered at the Maloya police station and the accused arrested.
