Woman killed as car hits auto in Dera Bassi

A 37-year-old woman died when the autorickshaw she was travelling in was hit by a car from behind at the Dera Bassi railway overbridge.
The incident yook place around 10.30 am as the vehicles approached the overbridge located on the Chandigarh-Ambala national highway.

The victim, who was later identified as Anreet Kaur, a resident of Bhankharpur, was headed to a sewing centre in Dera Bassi at the time.
According to eyewitnesses' account, the car hit the auto from behind and the woman, the lone passenger travelling in the three-wheeler, was tossed out. Her head hit the road.
The auto driver rushed the woman to the Dera Bassi Civil Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
