Three unidentified bike-borne youths allegedly robbed a 20-year-old woman of cash and valuables after barging into her house in the Mannat Enclave housing society.

According to the information, the accused kept her hostage at knifepoint for almost 30 minutes.

When the incident took place, the victim was alone at her home.

Two youths who had covered their faces knocked on her door and told her that her mother was calling her outside. The third youth was waiting on a bike outside.

When the woman refused to open the doot, the accused youths allegedly forced open the door and entered the house. They kept the girl captive at knifepoint and robbed the house of cash and valuables before fleeing.

The victim raised an alarm, following which neighbours gathered and called the police. Cops reached the spot and began investigation. The CCTV footage from nearby house has been acquired and the police are trying to trace the assailants.

Sharing further details, Zirakpur station house officr (SHO) Satinder Singh said a case has been registered and the police investigating the matter.
