Woman stabs another at Mohali society, 3 booked

Acrimonious fights among residents of housing societies touched a new low in Mohali when a woman attacked a neighbour with a knife over a dispute at Wave Estate, Sector 88, here.

The victim, Inderjit Kaur, was admitted to the Phase-6 Civil Hospital and stated to be stable. Both the victim and the assailant are said to be the president and vice-president of the housing society, respectively.

On a statement of the victim, the police have booked security guard Manpreet Singh, resident Shivdev Singh and his wife Khushpreet Kaur under Sections 331 (6), 115 (2), 324 (2), and 3 (5) of the BNS at the Sohana police station yesterday.

The DSP (City-2), Harsimran Singh Bal, said, “The victim stated that the security guard and Khushpreet entered her house at night and attacked her with a knife after arguments.”

On being asked the reason behind the attack, the police said there was some domestic dispute between the two as they lived in the same society. A video of the incident is also on the social media in which a woman, holding a knife, is charging at another woman while a security guard is struggling to stop her. The police are investigating the matter.
