Unknown women stole jewellery and cash from a house in Sector 10 after befooling an elderly couple.

According to the police, complainant Jayant Gupta reported that two unknown women visited his house and met his grandfather and grandmother on July 7. The suspects told the elderly couple that they came to know that there was a requirement for a maid.

The complainant’s grandmother asked the suspects to come inside the house and told them to come for work from the next day.

The police said one of the suspects then started massaging the elderly woman’s feet. In the meantime, the other suspect went inside the room and stole gold jewellery, weighing around 50 gm, and Rs60,000, which were lying in an almirah. The duo then left the house.

The theft was later discovered and the police informed about the incident. The police have registered a case at the Sector 3 police station.
