Box: Pencak Silat Senior State Championship

Chandigarh, February 3

Chandigarh Police team won two gold and one bronze medal on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Pencak Silat Senior State Championship at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.

Balwinder Kaur won gold medal by defeating Ruchika in the 55-60 kg weight category while Pooja claimed the top honour by overpowering Naushaba in the 60-65 kg final.

Anshu and Riya Kaushik won bronze medals each in the 55-60 kg category. Rishi and Nirmala Giri won bronze medal each in the 60-65 kg weight category.

Meanwhile, these players have been selected for the Senior National Championship, to be held in Rohtak (Haryana) from February 26 to 28. Coaches Sanjay Malik and Sandeep Malik praised the two players and wished them all the best for all future tournaments.

More than 15 academies and 200 players participated in this championship.
