The tile work of Shatabhgarh-Chhat village road was completed by Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 1.75cr today.

Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa dedicated the road to the residents, expressing hope that it will increase the accessibility of the village with the Airport Road. “The road will also open up opportunities of business and growth in the area,” he said while speaking at the occasion.

The 800ft stretch of road is paved with tiles for easy access. Notably, the local residents had in the past expressed displeasure over being forced to take a longer route in the absence of proper infrastructure.

Earlier, Randhawa inaugurated the development works worth Rs 7 crore including, construction of roads, tubewells, sewerage lines and a park in Baltana, Zirakpur and Dhakoli. In Wards Number 7 and 31, sewerage work worth Rs 3.52 crore has been planned, while another Rs 1.25 crore has been earmarked for Ward Number 4. —TNS
