A Barwala man, who works at a FASTag booth of a private company at the Jaloli toll plaza, was attacked by a group of youths over old enmity. The incident took place on Wednesday around noon. He, however, filed a formal complaint with the police yesterday following which the police registered an FIR.

The complainant, Sachin, had entered into a fight with the key suspect, Pramod, a resident of Khatoli village, a few days ago.

Sachin told the police that Pramod, along with his accomplices, assaulted him with sticks around noon. “A friend tried to intervene, but he also received injuries. All suspects had their faces covered with a cloth, so I couldn’t identity them. It was only after Pramod’s father came to our house with a compromise proposal that I came to know about his involvement,” he said.

A case was registered under Sections 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Chandimandir police station. —
