A youth was allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants behind the Verka milk booth, located opposite DPS School in Sector 40-C.

The attack, which took place around midnight on Saturday, left the victim seriously injured. The accused are all suspected to be juveniles.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants surrounded the boy and thrashed him before one of them, identified as Ayush, struck him with a sharp weapon.

The victim, who was later identified as 19-year-old Vivek, managed to flee through the narrow lanes.

Sources revealed that the group targeted Vivek following a disagreement in a nearby neighbourhood park.

The police have not yet made any arrests. Five to six other suspects have also been rounded and an FIR has been registered, and the investigation is underway.
