A 25-year-old youth was found murdered in Sector 21 here last night. The victim, identified as Akash, a resident of Ambedkar Colony in Dhakoli, was found murdered by a passerby, who informed the police. The police suspect the role of Ankit in the crime.

According to the victim’s family, he left home around 8 pm on Thursday with Ankit. When he did not return in the evening, his mother called him at 11 pm. Akash said he was with Ankit and would be home soon. His mother called again around 1 am. This time, Ankit answered and claimed Akash had been injured.

Akash’s elder brother, Suraj, alleged the murder might be linked to an old enmity. The deceased is survived by his wife Anjali and their two-year-old daughter. He worked as a glass fitter, installing windows at homes. Efforts are underway to locate Ankit, said the police.
