A local court today awarded 12-year imprisonment to a youth for carrying 100 banned injections.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Sanjiv Joshi also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the convict, identified as Chetan Rana (20), a resident of Mandhar in Saharanpur district.

The case dates back to March 1, 2018, when an FIR was registered at the Maloya police station under Section 22 of the NDPS Act.

According to the FIR, a police team on patrolling duty near the Dadu Majra dumping ground nabbed Rana with 50 injections of pheniramine meleate and 50 injections of buprenorphine.
