A youth carrying an illegal firearm was arrested in Pinjore.

The suspect was identified as Charanjit, alias Prince, alias Ghoda, a resident of Nanakpur village in Pinjore.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by ASI Gopal arrested the suspect near the veterinary hospital at Nanakpur. He was found in possession of a pistol. He could not furnish a licence for the firearm. A case under Section 25(1-A) of the Arms Act was registered at the Pinjore police station. The suspect was presented before a court on Sunday, which sent him to three-day police custody.
