A youth was arrested by the UT police for ramming his car into the gate of a girls’ hostel here last night.

The police said the suspect had been identified as Dilpreet, a resident of Bathinda.

Source said the suspect came to meet his friend at the girls’ hostel. However, the security guard told him that the meeting timings were over. The youth then brought his car and rammed it into the hostel gate. The security guard caught the suspect and informed the police about the incident.

The police have registered a case against the suspect at the Sector 11 police station and arrested him. He was today produced in a court, which sent him to judicial custody.
