The girls’ U-17 basketball team of Yadavindra Public School (YPS) claimed silver medal in the All India U-17 Indian Public Schools (IPSC) Basketball Tournament that concluded at Emerald Heights International School, Indore.

In the final, the YPS team went down 44-71 against the hosts. Samaira Singh and Samrath Gill of the Mohali outfit gathered maximum points for the side. Samaira was adjusted the highest scorer of the tournament, as she scored 93 points. She was awarded with a trophy.

In the pool matches, YPS defeated Modern School 66-50 with the help of Ananya Gupta and Samaira, followed by a 47-39 win over Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai. Nimar Sehdave and Samrath scripted the team’s win.

After reaching into the quarterfinals, the side posted a stunning 65-0 win over Mody School, Rajasthan, as Nimar and Samaira once again shined for the side. In the semifinals, the YPS eves continued their winning streak and trounced Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer, 56-24.
