Indian contender Yuvan Nandal stunned third seed Chirag Duhan 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets to confirm his boys’ U-18 quarterfinal berth in the ongoing ITF World Tour Tennis Juniors U-18 Tournament at the Sector 10 CLTA Complex here today.

Top seed Nishant Dabas also had an easy run over Maanav Jain 6-2, 6-3, while second seed Aman Dahiya ousted Belgium’s Nyo Van Dyck 6-1, 6-4.

Fourth seed Sanjith Devineni from the USA blanked Indian challenger Kartik Parhar 6-4, 6-2, while Belgium’s Sebastien Cauhape recorded a comeback 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory over qualifier Saheb Sodhi. Fifth seed Dhruv Tangri ousted Deep Munim 6-3, 6-4 and Aayush P Bhat of the USA overpowered Agriya Yadav 6-0, 6-4. Sixth seed Denim Yadav faced a tough challenge from Torus Rawat before recording a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win.

* Sarah in quarterfinals

Top seed Sarah Dev also moved into the girls’ quarterfinals by defeating Sanvi Ahluwalia 6-3, 6-3. Second seed Sanjana Sirimalla defeated qualifier Deepshika Sriram 6-1, 6-0, whereas third seeded Reshma Maruri edge past Gargi Pawar 6-3, 6-2 and fourth seed Shruti Ahlawat defeated France’s Camilia Samel Druz 6-3, 7-6 (4). Eighth seed Indian challenger Suhitha Maruri ousted Navya Vadlamudi of the USA by registering a comeback 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory, whereas Vaishnavi Adkar defeated Nandini Dixit 6-2, 6-2. Rutuja Chaphalkar of the USA defeated Anjali Rathi 6-3, 6-4 and Riya Uboveja outplayed Hetvee Chaudhari 6-2, 6-4 in the last two matches.

* Nishant-Chirag in doubles quarters

In the boys’ U-18 doubles pre-quarterfinals, top seed Nishant Dabas and Chirag Duhan defeated Rushil Khosla and Kartik Saxena 6-2, 6-2. The pair of Devaharshith Neelam and Saheb Sodhi ousted Arnav Bishnoi and Anirudh Sangra 6-3, 6-4 and Aayush P Bhat and Anargha Ganguly defeated Sarthak Arora and Aditya Chauhan 6-0, 6-2. In the girls’ doubles, top seed pair of Sarah and Riya blanked Vanya Arora and Ananya Dhankhar 6-0, 6-0. Kashmira Manohar and Lakshanya Vishwanath also moved into the next round by defeating Amina Salibayeva and Camila Samel Druz 6-2, 3-6 [10-7].
