Residebts today gathered outside their homes and raised slogans against the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for failing to provide uninterrupted power supply for past one week.

Scores of residents, led by Babita, Renu, Sita and Gulab Singh, said they are living in inhumane conditions given that there is no proper supply of power in the soaring temperatures.

Women with toddlers in their hands vented their ire on PSPCL officials as they have nowhere to go, saying, “There is no end to power cuts in Dhakoli, Baltana and Zirakpur for past one week. There is no power supply for four to six hours end. People have no generators, where should they go?”

PSPCL officials, meanwhile, said peak power demand, overloading and the compulsion to impose powercuts to avoid complete blackouts were behind the supply issues.
