This is the second major project for fire services in the Dera Bassi constituency. “Punjab’s first Fire Training School is already under construction at Lalru. Today, Zirakpur has got its long-awaited project of a dedicated fire station building,” he said.
The new building, to be constructed on 1.5 acres within a record time of nine months, will house fire tenders and modern equipment required to effectively combat fire emergencies.
Highlighting the urgent need for the project, Randhawa said, “Zirakpur is fast emerging as a hub of high-rise buildings. A dedicated fire station building with the latest infrastructure is the need of the hour. This facility will ensure preparedness and quick response to safeguard lives and property.”
