Panchkula’s Zubin Nijhawan (70-72) and Mumbai’s Akash Modi (71-71) claimed the top honours at the end of Round 2 of the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying (I) for the 2020 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad today.

Nijhawan and Modi topped the leaderboard at 2-under-142. From a total field of 98 in Pre Qualifying I, 28 players qualified for the final qualifying stage. Three players were tied in 26th position when the cut was declared at 8-over 152. Nijhawan, the overnight joint leader, kept his lead on Day 2 as he sank four birdies in exchange for a bogey and a triple-bogey.

Modi, lying overnight third and one shot off the lead, made two birdies and a bogey today to move into first place. Pankaj Maandiya (74-70) of Mhow finished third at even-par 144. Noida’s Manpreet Mann and Gurugram-based amateur Kartik Sharma were tied-fourth at 1-over 145.
