New Delhi: The Delta variant was primarily responsible for the second wave of Covid-19 in the country, accounting for over 80 per cent of new cases, Dr NK Arora, co-chair of Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium said. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
