1 killed, 2 hurt in road mishap near Manesar

A person was killed while two others sustained serious injuries after an overloaded truck collided with six vehicles near Manesar on Thursday night. An FIR was registered against the truck driver who managed to flee from the spot.

According to the police, around 9.00 pm on Thursday, there was a traffic jam near Manesar on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. A truck coming from Jaipur was speeding towards Manesar when the driver lost control. The brakes also failed and it collided with six vehicles before stopping. A cab was badly damaged and three people inside it were seriously injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where one was declared dead while two others are still being treated.

The deceased was identified as Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Kurukshetra while the injured were identified as Surender Kumar and Vinay Kumar of Mahendergarh district. “The deceased and injured worked for a private automobile company in Rajasthan. The truck driver will be arrested soon,” a senior police officer said.
