According to police, the accused—Sahid (20) and Munfaid (27), both residents of Pachgaon village in district Nuh—were apprehended on Tuesday night along the Nuh-Tauru road. Officers recovered six fake SIM cards and three mobile phones from their possession.

During interrogation, both the accused confessed to the crime. An FIR was registered against the accused at cyber police station, Nuh.

“We had taken the accused on a one day police remand on Wednesday. During interrogation, they confessed that they had defrauded common people by creating fake Instagram and Facebook profiles in the name of eminent personalities and senior IPS officers. Today, they were produced in a Nuh court and sent to judicial custody,” said the spokesperson of Nuh police.
