The arrested accused were identified as Jaswan of Shamshabad village and Dinesh of Prakash colony, Palwal. Over six cases have been registered against the accused under various sections such as attempt to murder and possession of illegal weapons.
A team of CIA Palwal led by probationer SI Deepak was on patrol last night when they got information that both the criminals were standing under the Kushlipur flyover and planning to carry out a major crime. Seeing the police vehicle, both hopped onto a bike and fled towards Rahrana village.
“During the chase, the pillion rider (Jaswant) fired at the police vehicle, hitting the front bumper. They drove about 200 m before turning onto a rough road just before Rahrana. They fell and were surrounded by the personnel. They again opened fire. Jaswant, a proclaimed offender, was shot in the leg, and Dinesh too got injured. They were arrested thereafter,” the police said.
