A 23-year-old woman died of electrocution at her rented accommodation in Mahipalpur area of Southwest Delhi, the police said on Monday.

The deceased, a native of Manipur, was working as an IT professional at Gurugram and was residing in the area.

The police found her lying in the bathroom with an immersion rod in her hand, an official said.

According to police, a PCR call was received at the Vasant Kunj (South) police station related to the incident.

The call was made by one of her friend who resides in the same building after she found her room bolted. The police team rushed to the spot and the gate was forced open. The police said the deceased had had used the immersion rod to heat the water, which resulted in electrocution.
