New Delhi: A 28-year-old man reportedly hanged himself while he was on night duty at a sewage treatment plant in the Vasant Kunj area. According to the police, the reason behind Chandan Das’ extreme step was suspected to be his strained relations with his wife. The police said Das used to work as an operator at the sewage plant. “He had a dispute with his wife and before ending his life, he made a video call to his mother. After the call, his wife and mother came to the Imperial Club and informed the guard. The crime team has inspected the spot and further investigation is underway,” the officer said. pti

Cashier flees with Rs 1 cr, held

New Delhi: A South Delhi cloth shop cashier, who allegedly fled with Rs 1 crore of business receipts, and two others who aided him, have been arrested, the police said on Friday. A senior police official said the cashier, identified as Rishabh Kumar Sharma (26), was a resident of Greater Kailash-I.
