According to reports, the child accidentally locked himself inside the apartment while his parents—his father, a realtor, and his mother, a doctor—were away.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the boy had been playing in a park before the incident. When the caretaker brought him back upstairs via a lift, the boy rushed out ahead of her and slammed the main door. The smart lock reportedly activated automatically, leaving him trapped alone inside. The parents usually kept the main door unlocked and only the couple knew the lock code.

Investigators said that the caretaker called out to the boy in an attempt to reopen the door, but he failed to do so.

After several futile efforts, she alerted her parents and security guards for help.

The child panicked and rushed toward the balcony and climbed onto a clothes stand to lean over the glass wall, possibly trying to attract attention. In the process, he slipped and fell.

Police said the boy’s father has ruled out any foul play. He has given a statement at the Sector 65 police station that his son died in an accident after getting locked in the apartment alone.
