A 62-year-old woman, reportedly suffering from cancer, allegedly died by jumping from the fourth floor of her house in Sector 56 on Tuesday early morning.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Jyoti Wadhwa. She had been suffering from Stage 4 cancer for several years. Despite treatment, her condition continued to deteriorate, causing her to become depressed.

Family members said she couldn’t sleep even after taking painkillers at night. Around 5.45 am on Tuesday, when her kin were asleep, she quietly left her bedroom and went to the terrace on the fourth floor from the third and took the extreme step. After getting information, the family members rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared her dead. “No suicide note has been found. We have handed over the body to the kin after the postmortem,” a police officer said.
