As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has kicked off an outreach campaign, ‘Aapka Vidhayak, Aapke Dwar’ (Your MLA at your doorsteps), to connect directly with voters and showcase its achievements over the past five years.

The campaign, which began on Sunday, aims to cover all 2,800 zones in Delhi within a month.

Senior AAP leaders Dilip Pandey and Kuldeep Kumar outlined the goals and structure of the campaign. Pandey, who represents the Timarpur constituency, said, “Given the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the AAP has started preparing its organisation. Under the campaign, the entire organisation is being re-evaluated.”

He detailed that party workers’ conferences were already being organised in 65 out of the 70 Assembly constituencies. “The state vice president, organisation secretary, district president, district secretary and party workers were present in each meeting. About 200 to 400 workers were present at almost every party workers’ conference,” he added.

The campaign is designed to operate on multiple levels, starting from the booth-level and extending up to the Assembly-level. “By holding meetings at more than 13,000 booths in Delhi, the party will prepare the structure of the Assembly, ward and after the zone, up to the booth-level well before the elections,” Pandey said.

He also explained that the campaign would be conducted in two formats, depending on whether AAP has an MLA in the constituency. In areas without AAP MLAs, meetings will be organised under the ‘Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ banner.

The campaign kicked off in key constituencies such as Shalimar Bagh, Bawana, Palam, Mehrauli, Sultanpuri, Bijwasan, Kondli, Vikaspuri, Madipur, and Timarpur on its first day.

AAP Delhi state vice president Kuldeep Kumar said the campaign’s focus was on directly engaging with the public to address their concerns and present the party’s achievements.

“Delhiites know that ever since Kejriwal’s government came to power, Delhi has continuously leapt in the direction of development. Whether it is 24-hour free electricity, water facilities, education, health, free bus commute for women, a pilgrimage for the elderly or the development of roads and sewer systems, our government is continuously working for the welfare of people,” Kumar said.
