“While on patrolling duty, both of them noticed a scuffle. When they went to the spot, they found a person holding a knife and threatening the girl saying, ‘abh dekta hu tum kisi aur se kaise shadi karti ho’ (I will see how you can marry some other person)”, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan.

The cop said the person, identified as Karan (27), a resident of Paharganj, was overpowered and taken into custody.

As per the statement of the woman, she was in a relationship with Karan and was also engaged to him. However, the engagement was called off six months ago.

She said since then, the accused had been harassing and threatening her. On the day of the incident, he entered her office, assaulted her and threatened her with a knife for refusing to marry him.
