New Delhi, January 17

Union Minister Anurag Thakur criticised the Congress for boycotting the consecration ceremony at Ram Temple on January 22.

He said such actions distanced the Congress from the devotees of Lord Rama. He accused the Congress of adopting the politics of appeasement and attempting to undermine the significance of the Ram Temple.

Thakur said Congress leaders were unable to accept the rapid construction of the temple they once sought to obstruct.

“This shows that no matter how much politics these people do, how much they talk about Lord Ram and Ram Setu as imaginary, but in the end, they will have to take refuge in Lord Rama only,” said Thakur.

He said opposition parties, particularly Congress, had consistently boycotted positive developments in the country. He accused them of opposing initiatives like the new Parliament building and boycotting Prime Minister Modi’s speeches.

He also criticised the AAP for its alleged track record of corruption, citing the incarceration of its Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers and MPs.

BJP organises procession

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP Mandir Cell organised the Shri Ram Mandir Utsav Yatra, a procession through the Delhi streets.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva flagged off the rally from the Delhi BJP Office. It drew thousands of saints, temple priests and enthusiastic participants.

The rally passed through landmarks such as Connaught Place, Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid and Red Fort. It then continued its journey through Tis Hazari, Jhandewalan, and Mandir Marg, culminating in a triumphant return to the state office at 14 Pant Marg.
