Cabinet Minister Atishi on Wednesday reviewed the flood preparedness of various departments in the Old Iron Bridge and Yamuna Bazaar areas along the Yamuna.

She emphasised the importance of these preparations, citing last year’s high water levels in the Yamuna, which reached their highest point in 40 years and caused flooding in low-lying areas.

During the inspection, officials assured the minister that the departments were fully prepared for any flood scenario. “In case of floods, motor boats, divers and medical teams will be ready for any action,” the officials shared.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
