Five persons, including three employees and two customers, suffered injuries after an air-conditioner (AC) compressor exploded at a pizza outlet in North East Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar, the police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at a building in C-Block around 8.55 pm. A team of the Delhi Fire Service also rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The injured persons were shifted to GTB Hospital. They were discharged after administering first aid.

However, a spokesperson for Pizza Hut, denied that the fire took place inside the outlet.

“None of our customers were harmed. Our store team members bravely helped control the fire, sustained injuries but are now recovering well. The team on the ground is extending full cooperation to the authorities in their investigation,” the eatery official said.
