Over 5,000 youth run to promote drug-free living in national capital

In a vibrant display of youth energy, the Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha organised the ‘Namo Yuva Run’ marathon on Sunday at the Delhi University Sports Complex as part of the Seva Pakhwada, celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. The 5-km run aimed to raise awareness against drug addiction and inspire the youth to lead healthy, responsible lives.

The marathon was flagged off by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, Delhi BJP Co-Incharge Alka Gurjar and Padma Shri awardee athlete Sudha Singh. Over 5,000 participants joined the run, accompanied by senior party leaders, including Delhi BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Pawan Rana, Union Minister of State Rajbhushan Chaudhary, Vishnu Mittal and Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha President Sagar Tyagi.

Addressing the participants, Tiwari said, “It is a matter of pride to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday through this Seva Pakhwada. Today’s marathon not only showcased massive youth participation but also emphasised the need for a drug-free Delhi and India.” He administered an oath urging youth to stay away from drugs and fulfil their responsibilities towards their families and the nation.

Chaudhary highlighted the significance of the campaign, saying it encouraged young people to contribute meaningfully to a developed India.

Alka Gurjar added, “This run inspires youth to lead healthy, drug-free lives and celebrates the Prime Minister’s birthday as a festival of service.” Organisers noted that similar ‘Namo Yuva Run’ events were being organised at 75 locations across the country.
