Delhi BJP’s Mayur Vihar District unit on Sunday organised an exhibition and a professional meet at the district office to highlight the achievements of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government over the past 11 years.

The event was attended by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and BJP national general secretary Dushyant Gautam, who addressed the gathering and praised the Centre’s commitment to development and good governance.

Leaders at the event delved into various milestones of the Modi-led government, including welfare schemes for the poor, infrastructure development, and efforts to uplift marginalised communities.

Mayur Vihar district president Vijender Dhama, joint front in-charge Sumit Bhasin, former Mayor Jai Prakash, district general secretaries Sanjeev Singh and Bhavana Jain, and professional meet convener Neeraj Sharma were among those present at the event.

Gautam said Modi had ushered in an era of “positive politics”, which had driven the country’s continuous progress.

“This is the era of Viksit Bharat. Under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, even the most marginalised have been connected to mainstream growth through comprehensive welfare schemes,” he said.

Sachdeva commended the Modi-led government’s “people-centric and transparent governance”, stating that more than 25 crore Indians had risen above the poverty line in the last 11 years, with an 80 per cent reduction in extreme poverty.

He sharply criticised former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. “While the Modi government worked on development with a clear vision, Kejriwal engaged in the politics of lies and corruption. His government actively blocked the implementation of Central schemes in Delhi,” he said.

Despite Kejriwal’s opposition, Sachdeva said, Delhi had benefitted from several major projects initiated by the Centre, such as FAME electric buses, Central Vista, Bharat Mandapam, YashoBhoomi, Kartavya Path, and tunnel roads. “During the COVID crisis, when Kejriwal abandoned Delhi, it was the Modi-led government that came to the city’s aid,” he added.

Highlighting the work undertaken by the newly formed BJP government in Delhi under CM Rekha Gupta, Sachdeva said, “In just 100 days, our government has issued Ayushman Bharat cards and ensured access to all Central welfare schemes in Delhi. We are committed to transparent governance and rooting out corruption left behind by the previous regime.”
