Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs ML Khattar on Wednesday said that the BJP would transform Gurugram into Millenium City 2.0 for a third time.

The former Haryana chief minister who was written off by many for being the face of doom for the city acted as pied piper and received decisive Punjabi votes which led to the party's victory. With residents giving a third chance to the BJP against a winning margin of as high as 60,000 votes, ML Khattar has promised a massive transformation for Gurugram.

According to sources, major power and housing reforms are in line for the city in addition to an overall infrastructure overhaul. The BJP has promised that the state leadership along with central ministers are working to plough back the revenue share of Gurugram which amounts to around 70 percent of the state. The plan which is still in conception stages would prioritise drainage, roads, power, homebuyer’s woes, security and accountability and would be titled Millenium City 2.0.

Khattar who was receiving end of all blames for poor state of Gurugram is himself overseeing the mega overhaul plan. Khattar has for a long time been the Chairman of local Grievance Committee and enjoys core cadre support group in RWA’s.

BJP leaders including Khattar have claimed that they were blamed with demeaning Gurugram and now they will answer back with Millennium City 2.0.

“There was no denial of infrastructure crises but it was more of a civic and administrative failure. However, in a bid to befool voters dedicated social media campaigns were run blaming party leaders, current and former CM. Everything right from old and fabricated clips were used to defame the regime,” said Arun Yadav, BJP’s state social media incharge.
