According to a police report, the incident came to light on Friday morning when family members found Aliya and her brother Zaid unconscious. The children had gone to sleep on a cot in a room of their house on Thursday night. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Aliya dead. Zaid was referred to a hospital in Delhi, where his condition is reported to be critical. TNS
Youth falls from moving train, dies
Palwal: A 27-year-old youth was killed and two others were injured after they fell from a moving train near Devli village on Thursday. According to police officials, the incident took place when two persons travelling in a shuttle train headed for Palwal accidentally fell out of the compartment. The accident took place due to heavy rush inside the compartment. According to a report lodged with the Railway police, one youth, identified as Gaurav, succumbed to his injuries. It is reported that Gaurav and two others, including one Rakesh, were standing near the gate of the shuttle when they lost their balance and fell on the side of the track. TNS
Govt: complete works in villages
New Delhi: The Delhi Government on Friday gave strict instructions to the officials concerned to complete all development works going on in the villages within the stipulated time frame. Development Minister Gopal Rai held a review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat along with officials of the Development Department, Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department and the Delhi Municipal Corporation.
